The current Windows app works offline. Its financial records and diagnostic logs are stored on your device and are not automatically sent to the DailyCents developer.
1. About DailyCents
DailyCents is an independently developed cash flow calendar application based in British Columbia, Canada. This policy describes the current Windows application and the informational DailyCents website. It does not describe unreleased mobile applications or future cloud features.
2. Financial information and local storage
DailyCents stores the information you enter into the Windows application locally in a SQLite database within your Windows AppData folder. This may include account names and balances, transactions, descriptions, categories, recurring schedules, and other budget information.
The Windows application does not automatically send financial records to the developer or developer-operated servers. You may choose to export or back up your data using the features provided by the app.
3. Internet connectivity and analytics
The current Windows application works without an internet connection. It does not use online analytics, advertising, tracking, or automatic telemetry, and it does not automatically transmit financial information or diagnostic logs.
4. Diagnostic logs
DailyCents may generate logs when errors or crashes occur. On Windows, these are stored locally in AppData\Local\DailyCents\logs.
Logs are not automatically uploaded. If you choose to send logs or screenshots in a support request, we may use that information to investigate the problem. Please review files before sharing them, since diagnostic information could contain details you prefer to keep private.
5. Backups and recovery
DailyCents includes local backup and recovery features, including automatic daily backups and manual backup and restore options. Backup copies may be retained on your device or in a local location you configure. You can also export backup files to a location you select.
Backups can contain the financial information stored in your database. Keep exported copies in a secure location and review older backups before restoring them, as restoring may replace newer changes.
An optional, user-directed cloud backup and restore feature may be introduced in a future release. It is not available in the current Windows application. This policy will be revised before such a feature becomes available.
6. Website hosting and analytics
This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process technical information, such as IP addresses and connection details, to deliver, secure, and operate the website. The website does not access financial information stored in the DailyCents application on your device.
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics on the published website when it is enabled in our Cloudflare Pages settings. This helps us understand general website traffic and performance, such as visits, page views, which pages are viewed, referring websites, approximate visitor country, device and browser categories, and page-loading measurements.
Cloudflare Web Analytics is designed to work without analytics cookies and without tracking individual visitors across websites. Website analytics are separate from the DailyCents desktop application: they do not access your local budget database or transmit your financial records to the developer.
We do not use Google Analytics or advertising-tracking scripts on this website. For more information about the analytics service, see Cloudflare Web Analytics documentation.
7. Support communications
If you contact DailyCents, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address, message, screenshots, or logs. We use this information to reply to your inquiry and troubleshoot issues. Email providers may process these communications to deliver and store messages.
Please do not send passwords, sensitive account details, or complete budget databases unless a specific support need has been discussed and you understand what you are sharing. You can contact us to ask about information you previously provided through support.
8. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as DailyCents develops, particularly before new platforms or online backup features are released. The updated date will appear at the top of the page.
