Reporting a problem
When emailing about a technical issue, it helps to include the DailyCents version, your Windows version, what you were doing when the issue occurred, and whether you can reproduce it. You may attach a relevant screenshot or local diagnostic log if you're comfortable sharing it.
Please remove or obscure sensitive details from screenshots and logs where practical. Do not send passwords or an entire budget database unless specifically requested for a support issue and you're comfortable doing so. Local Windows diagnostic logs can be found in AppData\Local\DailyCents\logs.
Frequently asked questions
Can I download DailyCents yet?
Not yet. The Windows application is in development, and a public download or Microsoft Store link will be added when it's available.
Where is my budget stored?
The current Windows application stores its SQLite database locally in your Windows AppData folder. The app does not automatically send your financial records to the developer.
Are backups available?
DailyCents includes local backup and recovery features, including automatic daily backups and manual backup and restore functionality. You can also export a backup to a location you choose. The exact controls may change before release.
Can I use my budget on another device?
Optional user-controlled cloud backup and restore between platforms is being considered for the future. It is not currently available. Android and iPhone versions have not been publicly released.
Does DailyCents work offline?
Yes. The current Windows application works without an internet connection.
Is the website's calendar preview the actual application?
It's a visual demonstration based on the DailyCents interface. Its transactions and balances are fictional, and it isn't a live budget.
